MATTEO

I'm 22 years old and am currently working in Milan for Cefriel, a spin-off of the Politecnico di Milano, which offers IT consulting services to promote innovation and digitalization across businesses. Within Cefriel, I am a researcher and a scientific consultant for the Internet of Things team. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and am interested in Computer Architecture, Embedded Systems and IoT. In my spare time I enjoy running and playing football.

I joined St. Louis School at Caviglia Campus as a kid at 3 years old and left as a young adult at 18. What I always found special about St. Louis was how much the school valued critical thinking, giving students the tools to develop an opinion and engage in constructive discussions with their peers from a very young age. This proved incredibly useful for me at University, at my job and in everyday life.

ALESSANDRO

My name is Alessandro Caroli, MSc student at Imperial College London and proud St Louis School alumnus.

From the start of my journey at St Louis, I was immersed in an English-speaking environment with extremely rigorous attention to both my personal and educational development. I was very fortunate to have teachers that were truly invested in my growth, going beyond mere academic lessons.

This approach forged independent and strong-willed individuals, as proven by the outstanding success of St Louis High School. Here, during the International Baccalaureate journey, I had the opportunity to address my passions, thanks to a multidisciplinary and tailored choice of subjects taught by some of the best professors in Europe.

This gave me the opportunity to study at two of the most respected British universities, where I have been confronting myself with exceptional students coming from all over the world: I am yet to find an environment that is as stimulating, inspiring and demanding as St Louis’s.

While being a privileged environment, St Louis School recognises the necessity of making the world a better place. Fundraising for the construction of a school in Banlung, Cambodia and visiting the village to physically support the cause remain among the most emotional experiences of my life.

After obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and Finance from Warwick Business School, I accepted an offer to pursue a Master’s of Science in Finance and Accounting at Imperial College London. Upon completion of my studies, I will be joining the credit portfolio advisory division of a multi-national investment bank, headquartered in London.

I will be eternally grateful to St Louis and to all the committed and passionate individuals that have enabled the School to reach extraordinary heights. Teachers and students at St Louis allowed me to dream and, most importantly, provided me with the competencies to turn my dreams into reality.

MATILDA

Hi! My name is Matilda and I graduated St Louis High School in 2017. I chose St Louis because of its multicultural environment and its approach to learning. St Louis was special to me as it allowed me to focus my studies on subjects that interested me, this helped me value my strengths and learn in ways that were stimulating and encouraging. I continued my studies at Central Saint Martins where I graduated with a First-Class Honours degree in Culture Criticism and Curation. Although I want to pursue a career in the arts, I have taken a year to follow my passion for skiing and complete a Corso Maestri.”

SILVIA

After completing the IB Diploma at the High School, I went on to study Physics at Imperial College London, where I did an Integrated Masters course (MSci) and graduated in 2019. After a few internships in finance, I decided that I actually wanted to learn how to code and work in Tech, so I did some training for a few months and then started working as a Data Engineer for a financial institution in London. Data Engineering involves finding ways to make large amounts of raw data useful to a business. My responsibilities also include managing databases and large scale processing systems. Outside of work I enjoy travelling, cooking and exercising.

I joined St Louis Caviglia when I was about 5 years old and when I left the High School at 17 I was ready to take on the world. I found St Louis to be a challenging and stimulating environment, where all teachers always encourage you to keep improving and deeply care about your personal and academic development. If my Physics teacher hadn't inspired me to pursue a Physics degree, I wouldn't be where I am today. From engaging in meaningful discussions on hard topics, to meeting interesting people from all over the world, St Louis will enable every student to achieve a tremendous amount of growth.

FRANCESCO

My name is Francesco and I graduated from St. Louis High School in 2018. After completing the IB Diploma I started a BSc in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Surrey, and am currently doing my MSc with specialisation in Mechatronic System Design at TU Delft, in the Netherlands.

I joined St. Louis when I was 2 years old and left at the age of 18. The educational environment in High School was extremely stimulating, as academic staff prioritised the needs of the individual students and helped them in choosing an adequate study program that aimed at maximising personal and intellectual skillsets. I found such challenging and stimulating environment essential in my preparation for University.

The multicultural environment at St Louis also allowed for close, but professional, relationships between students and teachers, which also act as advisors for your future academic career. Not only, as I was also able to meet and connect with dedicated students from all over the world that I still know today.
