The appraisal, published in early 2025, follows a visit to St. Louis School by an Independent Assessor, who conducted interviews with our three Headteachers, staff, pupils and parents. Here is what they had to say:

A modern, bright and spacious learning environment, St Louis' Caviglia campus has it all. Collaboration between the British and Italian systems ensures pupils benefit from a rich, balanced education, with artistic exposure given equal weight and prepares pupils equally well to continue with the British curriculum or enrol in an Italian liceo when they leave. Parents appreciate the combination of two diverse curriculums where pupils ‘learn two complimentary teaching and learning styles’.

Italian families with an international mindset will appreciate the culturally rich education offered here while expat families looking for integration will also find just that. The school finds the right balance of discipline and academic rigour with a holistic approach. Parents view the dual-system approach as a unique and enriching opportunity, blending old-school Italian traditions with critical thinking skills. As one parent put it, ‘There can’t be too many schools where students study Shakespeare and Dante at the same time’.

Discipline is a strength, with behaviour across the school described as almost impeccable.
